Will Lavigne

Right now, where are you and what are you up to?

I'm home in Quebec City and I’m just hanging. I've been on the road for the past two months so I’m just enjoying home right now.

When did you start snowboarding and how did you get into it?

I skied from age 3 until I was 11. My older sister started snowboarding and I thought it was pretty cool so I just took her set up that year and she got new gear. I rode a girl board and bindings for 2 years then eventually my dad bought me a set up.

Who is someone that inspires your riding?

All my friends from home are pretty big influence and I also get inspired a lot from skateboarding.

Who are your favorite Rome team members to ride with?

I’m not sure. The whole crew is pretty fun to ride with. It would depend on where I am, in the street or in backcountry. I probably wouldn't go on a sledding trip with Laurent but I ride rails with him all the time.

What projects have you been working on this last season?

We have a project called "Deja Vu" that features all the homies from Quebec City. It’s been really fun and it should be a good movie to watch.

Explain the gnarliest street spot or jump you have ever hit?

I rarely get to a point where I "put my life in danger" if I ride something its most of the time something that I know I’m able to ride or I’m confident I can make it happen. I scare myself more in backcountry than in the street.

What‘s usually pumping through your stereo on the way to the mountain?

I have a few French albums that I like; IAM, Kool Shen, or OxmoPuccino.

When you’re not snowboarding what else takes up your time?

I skate and bike a lot or I camp and go fishing. I try to be outside as much as possible. My friends and I have a place that we rent in town where we built a mini ramp and we can hang at night. That’s where we go anytime it's raining outside.

What are your three favorite video parts of all time?
  1. David Benedek - Afterbang. The concept he had in that part is pretty crazy still today
  2. Justin Hebbel - Love/Hate. He introduced so many new tricks and had great style.
  3. JP Walker - True Life. Crazy tricks and it was really inspiring back then.
What is your favorite board graphic of all time?

I was hyped on all the old Shorty skateboards. The old Muska pro-model was G.
