With a new shape for the 23/24 season, the Stale Fish is even more versatile than ever. Ståle Sandbech’s wanted a more powerful overall ride, so we created a new shape with slightly less taper and a more centered stance. Built with our Directional Diamond 3D in the nose for maximum float in pow, the Stale Fish also features our Directional Flax Walls running from the front insert pack into the boards nose for additional rigidity and chatter dampening.

Designed for all-mountain prowess and float in the deep. Rockered in the nose, flat under the front foot, with a positive cambered tail.

Shape and Hotrods

Taper is featured in directional boards built with wider noses than tails, helping with agile turns and added float in deep snow.

Designed to increase float in deep snow, improve handling in variable terrain, smooth turn initiation, reduce edge catch and complement all-mountain riding in all-senses.

One single rod of bamboo milled into the boards core in the nose for pressability and playfulness.

Made of carbon, Omegas act as housing built around the HotRods and are designed to provide additonal power and responsiveness.

Board Contents

Topsheet

Fiberglass running in three different axes, built for torsionally rigidity and added snap.

Our most versatile and durable core, built with alternating strips of 20mm strips of poplar and 20mm strips of paulownia.

The new go-to, this hardworking base is easy to fix with great wax retention. A low maintenance daily driver for riders of all ability levels.

Good board, bad customer service

After having a bad taste left by exchanging my board for a different size I was predisposed to not like it. I rode the board yesterday, it rode great. Laying down some big carves on late season east coast crud. Great edge on the ice, smooth & fast on what corduroy was around, cut right through the spring afternoon mashed tater slush/snow. I really, really liked it. I hope it holds up cause I’m still not happy about the exchange, beware SHIPPING IS NOT INCLUDED ON RETURNS, Customer service has no phone # and doesn’t seem to be in any rush to answer emails.

This board does it all! Holds an edge nicely on groomers, responsive and powerful, and absolutely crushed powder. I swear this board can even move uphill.

Stalefish 157… could this be the unicorn?

I’m 5’11”, 185lb, riding for 30 years. Local mountain is Whistler and I mainly ride pow, trees, steeper tech terrain. No park. On piste this thing rips. Holds an edge and carves like a dream. Last two boards were Koruas and the Stalefish carves just as nice. Very fast base. Stable and damp at high speed. Lots of pop. Rides switch nicely, maybe a little twitchy but that’s to be expected with the taper. Truly an awesome allrounder that rips the whole mountain. This winter has not blessed us with many deep days but I’ll update my review once Ive had it in some proper pow.

Great board

Great board on the groomers for carving, it also handles jumps and rails in the park very well, didn’t tried it in the pow yet but I’m sure it performs great too, very good all arounder, very responsive, good pop maybe a little bit too stiff for jibbing but still manageable

Such a fun board! I’m 6’0 185 lbs size 11 boot. I had my reservations about going as small as 153 (usually ride 159/160) but this thing rips. Pops in and out of carves with a burst of speed. Responsive yet stable and easy to ride. Groomers or powder. Decent price. What more could you ask for?
