World Boards Profile

Give us a quick run-down of your shop and its history.

We opened our doors in 1993, carrying only skateboards, and snowboards, we haven’t changed things at all, and have been pretty much running things ever since.

What is it about your shop that keeps the local shreds coming back to get all their gear?

Unprecedented customer service, carrying only the RAD, and subtle mind control over the youth keeps us on top.

Describe your local shop crew; do you often have people hanging out at the shop?

Our crew can be described as partly motivated with a chance of Radness. Yes, people love to lurk here, if you stay long enough, and endure enough badgering from Matt, we might put you to work.

Crazy customers make for good stories, got any really good ones from the past season?

We had a customer ask us how avalanche transceivers are suppose to work when you’re cloaked in ice. Then go on to inform us that he and his lady are moving to Germany, because that’s where the real Metal is…apparently Slipknot is dying off here in the States.

Do you remember buying your first kit? How do your early snowboard purchasing experiences affect how you sell snowboards?

I do remember, and let’s just say I try to do a better job than they did, skiers shouldn’t be selling snowboards.

Do you have any yearly event at the shop that you look forward to?

Bro Days! Just show up on any given Wednesday during the year and you’ll see!

“Will you guys sponsor me?” “Do you have any free stickers?” which one do you hear most often?

Both, it usually comes from the same person.

What’s been your all time favorite sticker?

“Your board polished by many small hands”, maybe? Or “What you do on hill soon forgotten, what you look in lodge forever”.

What’s the best story of a customer trying to return something or ask for their money back?

We had a customer bring back a board after riding it for a week or so, and complained it wouldn’t turn left? We were pretty sure it was operator error, but sharpened his heel-side edge for him, and gave his bindings a little forward lean! Far as I know, problem solved.

Do you get out on the hill enough to make you happy?

Of course!

When do you feel that switch go off in your head that snowboard season is coming quick?

When the Bro talk in the shop goes from zero to way too much!

What’s on the music playlist in the shop lately? Who usually gets controls over the music and why?

Whatever Matt is feeling…Matt, mostly because he’s the only one who cares, unless Jay is here…Jay trumps all!
