Jonaven Moore

Jonaven Moore is crazy on a snowboard. His big, exposed lines mixed with his full throttle pillow and cliff drops are leading a charge back to big, scary snowboarding. Jonaven’s look at the mountain is a whole lot different than most, but it’s a refreshing change to see someone really riding fast big lines across the entire mountain. He’ll drive days to Alaska at the drop of a hat to chase powder or he’ll hitchhike laps on roadside drops in Alberta. It’s hard to say where Jonaven will be from day to day, but one things for sure he’ll be snowboarding fast with or without a camera.

Words to Live By:

Respect, humility, and passion.

“Any means” tell us your experience:

Breaking down on the Alaska Highway in my truck because the diesel became too cold to flow anymore. Had some anonymous redneck set me up with the biggest propane defroster I've ever seen and some kerosene and we were on our way. All trying to go shred...

Best Memory of the Year:

Hiking lines on the Rogers Pass off the side of the Trans-Canada. Trying not to shut the highway down. True sluff management.

Rome House, tell us the ins and outs:

I'm probably outside in my tent.

What does the Collective Addiction mean to you:

A bunch of total randoms all sliding on sticks on snow. It’s pretty simple when you really break it down.

Best Hang (trip of the year):

Sentry Mountain Lodge. All splitboard (hiking) terrain. You could walk out the lodge in the morning with a coffee in hand and scope lines a couple hundred meters away.

You have the opportunity to be a hit on anyone of the hit reality TV shows, which one would you choose:

I've never watched one. Don't own a TV.

Tell us something personal:

I went and saw Norah Jones play music last night. My music taste is pretty eclectic.

Best story of another team rider:

I enjoyed hearing the French kids lose their minds in the woods on the Beartooth. That was memorable.

You’re a bartender make a new drink and name it:

The Sake Caesar. It’s pretty self-explanatory.

Best Meal:

Is with friends.

Favorite website these days:

No computer rights now either. But when I'm in a cafe with one I usually check truthout.org.

Johnny Drama, Turtle, and E make up Vincent Chase's Entourage. Who would be yours?

Turtle! Cause she's my dog!

Music Top 5 songs of all time:

I'll give you bands instead. Slayer, Good Riddance, Rise Against, Tracy Chapman, Bob Marley

Favorite Zone:

Is the most elusive. The barrel.

Biggest Influence in your life and why:

My mom. She raised me as a single mom through some crazy times. A teacher by action rather than words, and a model for respect and passion as is possible in this world.
