Shop Guy of the Week: Jean Lavigne

I’m not too sure what to say about Jean, other than the fact that he shreds on a snowboard with more swagger than your average dude, and he knows how to keep the party going due to the fact that he’s a dj as well. Also, bro is pretty damn funny, and has a romance for snowboarding like no other, so keep an eye out for djean on the Vancouver slopes.**

Where’s Westbeach?
West 4th & Burrard in Vancouver. Best block in Canada! Westbeach has been around for a while; I'm pretty stoked to be working for the company. A lot of history and respect comes with the name. It's cool to be a part of that.
Do you ever get all randy at work? I understand that both the mangers are smoking babes?
Definitely babes. It gets hard.
What’s your home mountain?
Grouse
Are you scared of bears?
Not really, I've gotten used to them. They're all over where I live, I just make sure to yell and make lots of noise when I walk home. Sometimes I carry mace, it gets pretty serious.
You know they have bears hiding at grouse?
I hear they're more scared of us then we are of them, so I can see that. I hope they don't ever realize how big they are. I don't think I'd ride Grouse anymore, if they came out of hiding/sleeping.
How long have you been working in the shop?
Since I can remember… three months
What makes your shop stand out?
Fact: it’s the only Westbeach shop in the world!!!
What’s the craziest thing a customer’s asked for?
A board that can make them do backflips
What did you sell him?
A helmet, haha
Was he father backflip from Mount Seymour?
Definitely not. The opposite actually, I hope he never tries one. (for his safety)

No fridge…. Just victory beers in the bathroom

No, too risky. The shops too small, Sarah would smell it on me from the other side of the store. We have victory shotguns after work
