The Shred Remains Film Update – The Alps

Mar 14, 2010 - 12:53 PM EDT

We’ve been in the Alps for about a week now. We started our mission in France at Nico Droz’s home resort, Avoriaz. The terrain there was amazing, but due to Mother Nature not giving us the snow and weather combo we needed, we had to make a move. We were checking out the weather all over Europe, and took a shot at our best option, and headed to Austria.

After an eight hour drive, with a crew consisting of Bjorn Leines, Lucas Debari, Will Lavigne, and Onboard photographer Matt George we got to our spot in Austria in hope of better snow. Snowboarding is about making adjustments sometimes, and if you’re in a spot with no snow, you have to change plans. A couple days into our time here in Austria and things are starting to look up. We’ve had a couple fun days of riding and filming in a new zone, so the drive was well worth it.

Big thanks to Sveti and Karen at Montafon, Austria for sorting us out, and thanks to Droz for showing us around his home resort. Stay tuned for more on the Rome Team as we travel the globe during the making of “The Shred Remains”.
