Johnny Lazz: Contest Wins, TV Shows and Becoming Legal
May 07, 2009 - 12:53 PM
Rome Am Johnny Lazz has been on a whirlwind tour lately, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Lazz has had a huge year this season. He’s been traveling, filming and shooting for a few different feature stories due out next fall. In the last couple weeks he’s been holding it down in Nor-Cal, getting it done, and staying jacked up on Red Bull all night. He started his 2-week onslaught down in Mammoth for the PBRJ finals of the year. With the smoothness, he jibbed his way to a win and took home $2,500 cash for his efforts. Also there to shred at the event with some heavy rail jamming was Colorado’s Rome AM, Dylan Alito who took 5th in the contest and 500 bones to boot.
From there Lazz and Dylan both hopped a ride down to So-Cal and made an appearance on Fuel TV’s Daily Habit with the rest of the PBRJ winners. Make sure to check those guys out on May 20th when it airs; bound to be some comic relief from these 2 shreds.
Fast forward a week and Lazz jumped back up to Mammoth where he did the rail jam at the WCI. The invite only, rider judged contest has become a late season major, and Lazz put on a heavy showing. He didn’t end up with the winner take all 10-G cash purse, but chances are he’ll be back next year.
Last but not least, little Lazz, the team grom, hell raiser, shit talker, pain in the ass, has finally become a grown up (legally speaking), turning 18 on Cinco De Mayo, AKA 5 of May. Photos of this night will be popping up soon but rumors have it Lazz made the most of it. Happy Birthday Lazz welcome to adulthood. Don’t spend all your winnings on scratch tickets, adult magazines, tobacco products or whatever else the age of 18 now allows you to be a part of. Stayed tuned for more team updates, whereabouts and stories of going ons over the summer.
