While making the in-and-out process quicker and easier, the big story of Rome’s PureFlex lacing system is not convenience. The big story is the flex and the fit control that you achieve while reducing lace time. With no long plastic guides inside or outside the boot, the boot’s flex is kink-free and utterly smooth and natural—hence the name, PureFlex. And with four zones of control in one pulling motion, riders can custom-fit the boot to how they like it.

Zone 1: The inner cuff—tightened in Stage 1 of your pull

Zone 2: The fore foot—tightened in Stage 1 of your pull

Zone 3: The ankle—tightened in Stage 2 of your pull

Zone 4: The upper cuff—tightened in Stage 3 of your pull
