Free Life Center

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Old friend, former Rome AmArmy shred, champion beard grower, talented artist and all around good guy Seth Neefus has started a pretty ambitious endeavor. With artist Mark Warren Jacques, they have embarked on the Free Life Center project. The Center aims to be a traveling art installation, showcasing their work, music, ideals and lifestyle. Seth is a really talented guy, and their project is currently looking for funding through Kickstarter. To learn more about it, contribute, or just be blown away by some of Seth’s work, click one of the links above.

Check the video for a glimpse of what these guys have in the works.

Rock and Roll Tuesday – MC5

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

This weeks selection goes out to Michigan’s own, Mikey Forester. From the early glory days of Detroit Rock City. Enjoy some classics from MC5 (Motor City 5).

There is a ten minute version of “Black to Comm” on youtube you should check out, but here is shorter heavier version of the classic.

My personal favorite sang by Wayne Kramer – Ramblin Rose

Rock and Roll Tuesday – Black Sabbath

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I could post just about every Sabbath song Ozzy sings this Tuesday because they are all good. Sure Sabbath had the bleak years when Dio sang, but early on, and for the past 12 years Sabbath has been hitting hard. I was going to post some Sabbath covers this week because just about every heavy metal band was influenced by them, but instead; we’ll enjoy these classic live performances..

This will not be the last time you see Sabbath on RRT, there are just too many songs by them I dig to squeeze in just one post.

Geezer friggin rules.

New Art for Me

So, long story shorter. My wife bought me some art for my birthday or something from an artist she found in my computers bookmarks from a guy out in Portland, Charlie Alan Kraft. Anyhow, couple weeks went by, couple unanswered emails, and my wife was like, what’s up with this guy, I’m talking to PayPal and getting my money back. So he writes back, to paraphrase and maybe make some stuff up since I don’t remember exactly “Fuck off, I’m not a Target where you can call customer service, I’ve been partying for a few weeks….”, anyhow, it was a pretty awesome email, and really it made me like the art more, and I told him that.

Stuff got ironed out, and we kept meaning to meet up out in Oregon when I was out at Hood, but kept missing each other and I finally got a pretty sick box in the mail.
If you’re interested in getting some stuff by this guy…. Well, not really sure about the best way to go about it. But in retrospect, I think hitting the bars in Portland with a T shirt that says, I’d like some art from Charlie Alan Kraft is probably a good bet.

I know what you’re thinking…how can this guy like art, he doesn’s own a Mac…
