WATERBURY, VT
——-AP reporters

“Rome Sox ready themselves or a third straight victory over the SDS Sox”

The parking lot of the Rome SDS, located in Waterbury, VT has been temporarily renamed as the “In-house Training Facility” leading up to their big game a week from today against the sales rep squad in Londonderry, VT. The reps SDS Sox have dropped 2 games in a row to the Inhouse Rome Sox.

All roster players, and some new ones hoping to make the cut showed for today’s mandatory practice session. Overseen by Manager/Yeller/Fast Talker Ryan Runke, the squad looked good to him. “Everyone took to working together on the field really well. Charging grounders, running sprints and grabbing fly balls on the run, everyone looks good. Even the new additions show promise” Runke said, “At least no one looks as bad as Rich Smith out there.”

During the practice session, some of the players were reached for comment:

“If you thought that catch that saved the game last year was something, wait till you see what i’m bringing this time around” exclaimed Ian Fung, who ended the Reps rally late in last years game with a spectacular catch in center field.

“It’s funny to see Coleman out there, barking orders at the Rep squad, trying to rally them on the field. That guys so little, it’s kinda cute” taunted All Star first baseman George Eget.

When asked is he was afraid of the go get’em attitude brought by the State Champ from Nor Cal, backup catcher/shit talker Shawn Dumont thought for a while, then said “State Champ?… Ohhh, you mean the State Chump! Nah, I’m not scared of him, but the way he pulls his socks up to his balls is pretty funny.”

During warm up, Cy Young winner Ron Faverty seemed to be in zone, ignoring my repeated attempts for a quote. That is, until he turned to me and yelled “Until this game is in the over, you”ll address me as Kenny Fucking Powers” Poetry folks, Poetry.

All at Mondays practice were in good spirits, and ready to take on the Rep Squad, and snatch a THIRD STRAIGHT VICTORY from them in as many years. “I feel bad bringing everyone out here from so far away for the game, and then beating the tar out of them” said Dan Sullivan, “But then I look at the Golden Ball trophy, and I just laugh a little. I don’t feel bad at all after that.”

And the reps should be worried, however, after seeing one of the balls from the team’s batting practice. Hopefully their pride holds together better than this ball, that got hit so hard it nearly blew up.

My friend Harry has been telling me about this record store he found in Brooklyn for months. On the few occasions that I have made it down to see him it has always been on my agenda but never in the cards.

he snapped these pictures for me on his last spelunking expedition.

Wednesday’s with Bill. Murray.

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

I wake up every day, and try to make it better than the day before. It’s just a good way to approach life, and hopefully always create new and better things. Blogging is no exception. While Mr. Yellow Belly has taken to making Rock and Roll a weekly endeavor, here at Wednesday’s With Bill. Murray, we don’t like to pigeon hole ourselves. Sure, Bill Murray is one of the greatest actors to ever grace the screen, and his body of work will keep WWBM in business forever if needed, but sometimes, you need a bit more.

That is where today’s clip comes in.

With Iggy Pop scoring the soundtrack, Bill Murray takes out an entire boat of pirates. Thats what he does – he run’s shit. Kinda like Wednesday’s with Bill. Murray, wouldn’t you agree, Mr. Yellow Belly?

And this bonus clip is for me. I’d love to take Mr. Goldblum’s approach to dog control here at the office.

Rock and Roll Tuesday – FEAR !!!

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Great live performance on Saturday Night Live.. The gist: Belushi called in a favor because he loved FEAR (and loved partying with them) and got the group booked on SNL. The guys from FEAR are from L.A. but called up their friends in the DC hardcore scene, and 30 of them showed up to ‘dance’. A bunch of people from the original DC hardcore scene are in that audience, including Ian MacKay, who yells “New York Sucks” between the songs. This will be the one and only time you hear a saxophone on RRT. Big thanks to Mr. Pink for reminding me of this and sending it over.

This is one hell of a way to start a show… The audio is off but you get the idea.

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

This week it’s Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers… (not to be confused with Tom Petty’s band, totally different). I recommend adding a song or two by him to your playlist.
this is one of those songs that gets better and better as it goes on

This song was written by Dee Dee Ramone but performed by Johnny Thunders

Enjoy!

Wednesday’s with Bill. Murray.

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Old Bill used to rule the SNL stage. Here’s a gem. The pipes on this guy – giving dumb George a run for his musical postings.
