handyman happenings
About a month ago, my father-in-law Joe came to town to help me install a new front door, columns and roof at the house. Below are some photos documenting what went down.
The look before the hammers came out.

The first step was to rip out the rotting molding above the door, and put the roof in place. Joe had built it back home, so we just had to hoist it into place. It definitely did not feel good when it slipped and hit me in the head. Twice.

With the hard, and heavy, part over, the next step was to rip out the old door and trim, and replace it with the new one.

Much better. All that was left to do was instal the new lights, paint it and put the new numbers on.

While i’m really happy with the new look and character all this adds, i’m really hyped on the house numbers. A bit of internet searching and i found these awesome Mission style numbers. My wife thought I was nuts with the amount of time i spent figuring out the letter spacing on these, but to me, it was worth it. I hope you agree.
