I found this on another site but it's too crazy not to repost. I'll chuck this one up to things I'd rather not think about while snowboarding......

Really Really Bad Style

Jan 02, 2009 - 12:36 PM EST

I found THIS on Jeremy Jones' Blog What he's saying here is so right. There are a million kids out trying to make snowboard movies these days, that's cool, but clean that shit up. Leaving snowy landings and crazy in runs, jumps and bumps does nothing but piss people off and make people way less likely to be cool.

A Sad Day For Showtime!

Dec 22, 2008 - 10:43 PM EST

Anyone who came to the infamous Rome Tahoe house no doubt met Kyle "Showtime" Smith. Saying he's a character is an understatement, I've known him for quite some time and he could very easily fill his own blog with unbelievable story after unbelievable story. Showtime held shit together at the Tahoe house, he cleaned up after everyone's mess, he dealt with the landlord, he dealt with the cops, He made his famous "airport runs", and he befriended nearly everyone that came through the house (unless you were a poor unfortunate soul who happened to break something or cause some sort of problem Kyle didn't like). Along the way he became particularly tight with Yan and Max, they shared a similar outlook on life and snowboarding. Yan and Max have an uncanny imitation of Kyle and in particular his morning pre riding routine which among other things involved drinking "Sparks" on the way to the mountain and on the lift. Sparks is an energy drink that contains alcohol, it comes in a can, it's orange flavored, and among other things it's the official drink of the Kingvale Terrain Park. Well Max and Yan are going to be laughing and Kyle and the guys from Kingvale will be crying, because Sparks has officially been canned and when I say canned I don't mean it in a good way for the beverage. Sorry Kyle you can read all about it HERE

Cops Crack Down on Jibbers

Dec 16, 2008 - 11:57 PM EST

Dealing with the police and security guards is something you better be ready for if you are trying to film a snowboarding movie these days. Over the years I've had my fair share of altercations. Some tickets, some fines, countless kickouts, lots of verbal sparring, some jedi mind tricks, a really sketchy 6 hours in holding at a military academy, guns drawn on us in Buffalo, and my all time most random instance involves cops, wild rabbits and a rail at an animal research facility.....Don't ask. Basically if you are going to film handrails, be ready to deal with authority, and honestly prepare for the worst. Try to be polite, after all no matter how you try to justify it you are doing something wrong. Wiseing off to a cop is going to get you no where. Apparently the cops in Summit county have had it, and are cracking down big time on jibbing, Read about it HERE

and if you want to watch some videos starring the culprits who helped spawn the current jib situation in Summit County click HERE - Hope you enjoy, Cavan
